Product Description
RUGAVAL Supplied PTFE Sheet only for Virgin type! This is most important when you choose for right PTFE Sheet. This is high grade type of PTFE Sheet compare to recycle material made PTFE. Nowadays, many local supply recycle made material with low price to attract customer. For recycle made PTFE type it was fail to apply what it mention below:
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) provides unmatched chemical resistance at temperatures to 300 degree celsius. Because its carbon chains are completely fluorinated, PTFE is chemically inert to the following broad range of commercial chemicals.
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) was originally developed for use in aerospace applications but soon found a home in countless industrial applications. PTFE‘s unique characteristics include: chemical inertness (very few chemicals can attack it), extremely low coefficient of friction (nothing can stick to the material with any strength), high heat resistance (capable of service temperatures of 500° F) and extremely useful in cold temperature environments.
Combined with the chemical inertness of PTFE are its unusual non stick properties. Thus a PTFE lined pipe system eliminates or minimises buildup of deposits on the pipe walls which otherwise would reduce flow and possibly affect processing operations.
Because of mechanical and thermal expansion factors, PTFE lined pipe and fittings are not recommended above 260 degree celsius. Although there are cases where they have given satisfactory service above this temperature.
Only molten alkali metals, such as sodium or potassium, a few fluorochemicals, such as chlorine trifluoride or oxygen difluoride and liquid or gaseous fluorine can have chemical effect on these materials below their respective upper temperature limits.
Key properties of PTFE sheet
• Excellent chemical resistance
• Working temperature -190°C to +260°C
• Greatest resistance to fatigue (Wöhler curve)
• FDA approved + EU10/2011 Food Grade
• Flame resistant - UL94V0
• No stick
• Low friction
• UV-resistant (does not age)
• Not hygroscopic (water absorption < 0,01%)
Water Absorption: 0.1%~0.3%
Contraction Percentage: 0.4%~1.4%
Tensile Strength: (30~40)MPa
• Very good dielectric dielectric insulation properties
Properties of PTFE can be improved by adding additives as carbon, graphite, glass etc.
