Rubber Road Hump (Bump) Installation Methods
Install with Steel Spikes (for asphalt and gravel only)
You Will Need:
1) Position speed bump in desired location. Mark where pre-sunk bolt holes sit. Remove speed bump.
2) Drill each marking through pavement to create space for steel spikes. Clean and dry area. Reposition speed bump so pre-sunk bolt holes align with drilled pavement holes.
3) Hammer a spike through the center bolt hole into drilled hole until snug against counterbore hole. Repeat for each bolt hole. Butter spikes with epoxy to help protect older asphalt from cracking.
Install with Lag Bolts & Anchors (for asphalt and concrete only)
You Will Need:
1) Position speed bump in desired location. Place a chalk mark on pavement inside bolt holes. Remove speed bump
2) Drill each marking to create bolt holes. Clean and dry area. Insert anchors in each hole -- tap with a hammer until flush with surface. Place speed bump so bolt holes sit directly above drilled pavement holes.
3) Insert bolts with washer through bolt holes. Beginning with the center hole, tighten each bolt until 3/4 submerged. Return to each hole and tighten until snug.
